
The following grant has been approved by the Executive Member for Policy, Strategy and Finance, Conservative Councillor Seán Woodward. The grant application was for Warsash Theatre Club.
The Warsash Theatre Club presents productions, plays and pantomimes in the Victory Hall in Warsash for the local community. In particular The Warsash Theatre Club gives young people the opportunity to 'tread the boards' learning stage techniques on and behind the scenes.
The Club wished to replace and provide additional dressing in the form of new tracking and curtains for the stage area at Victory Hall Warsash. This will provide a more professional look to productions that the group put on throughout the year.
The total cost of the project was £2,081and The Warsash Theatre Club requested £1,883. The remainder of the money will come from club funds.
The Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Seán Woodward, said: "This community grant will hopefully help the theatre club performances in the Victory Hall but will also benefit other community groups that use the Hall.''
