I am married and we have an 11-year old son. We live in the Sarisbury Ward, having lived in the Western Wards of Fareham for 39 years. I have an Honours Degree in Biology and work in the field of healthcare.

I am Past President of the Rotary Club of Fareham, a founder member of the Rotary Club of Whiteley and a member of the National Trust. I am also the President of the Fareham and District Branch of the Parkinson's Disease Society.

I have always attempted to keep as tight a rein as possible on extra housebuilding in the Sarisbury/Swanwick/Burridge/Whiteley area while working within the confines of laid-down planning policies. A top priority has been to keep major housebuilding off the Coldeast Hospital site and during my first 23 years as Sarisbury's Councillor not one house had been completed on the land although following a planning permission granted on appeal that has now changed.

I feel that it is important within major development areas that suitable community facilities are provided. I have been instrumental in negotiating for and/or identifying sites for such facilities in Whiteley as a Community Centre, Doctors' Surgery, Playgrounds, Skatepark, Schools and Shops. I am also continually fighting for the completion of Whiteley Way, which will help Whiteley, as well as relieving traffic congestion in Burridge and Swanwick. We need community facilities, not more houses. We particularly need a swimming pool and fitness suite, an aim I believe can be realised.

I have been instrumental in proposing and achieving funding for environmental improvements in the area including the facelift for Park Gate shopping area and improvements to Sarisbury Green and Swanwick Shore, including bringing about their designation as Conservation Areas.
