Born on the borders of London/Kent.

Grew up and educated in South London – was an old Grammar School girl.

Married 53 years. 2 children. 6 grand-children.

Lived and worked in Zambia and Kenya and visit friends and god-children in Africa as often as possible as it helps re-charge my batteries.

PA by profession – had lots of interesting jobs, from PA to a Director of a Merchant Bank in the City of London to PA to a Chairman of a Company in the centre of Africa plus with 2 friends owned and ran a florist, hair and beauty shop in Zambia. I was Chairman of Round Table Ladies Circle in Ndola, Zambia and Nairobi, Kenya.

I have been interested in Politics since early teens.  When returning from Africa started by delivering leaflets, becoming a local branch Committee Member and the rest is as follows:-

First elected 1991 as Ward Councillor for Fareham North West

Lost seat in 1998

Re-elected May 2002 for the Titchfield Ward – continuous service to date

During my time in office I have been Chairman of the Housing sub-committee, Vice Chairman of Housing Committee, served on Leisure Committee, Deputy Leader, Executive Member for Leisure & Community for the last 10/11 years and been a deputy on Planning for many years.

Over the years I have also served/been deputy for FBC on many outside bodies such as Deputy for H&IOW LGA, Deputy Hampshire Partnership, Highlands Hub Management Committee, Local Children’s Partnership, Portchester Crematorium Mgt. Committee, Trustee of the Earl of Southampton Trust, Chaired Fareham Park Steering Group, Westbury Manor Museum Joint Mgt. Committee and monitored the financial grant by Fareham Borough Council in respect of Citizen Advice Bureau and Community Action Fareham.  I have also been a very keen supporter of Fareham in Bloom and also Titchfield In Bloom

I have served/supported many local Groups and Community Centre Management Committees, helped oversee the transfer of Fareham Leisure Centre to SLM and Chaired the Portchester Community Centre project.  For many years I was also Chairman of Governors at a local infant school.

I had the honour of being the Mayor of Fareham from2016/17 with Geoff as my Consort. We enjoyed the experience, met many wonderful folks along the way and raised a goodly sum of money for my Mayoral Charities which were Y-Services for young people and Breast Cancer Haven, Titchfield.

Since being re-elected in May this year I am now Chairman of the Leisure & Community Review & Policy Committee, as well as Member of the Housing Committee and a Deputy on the Planning Committee. I am also still a Trustee of the Earl of Southampton Trust.

I am driven by family values, the right of people to make their own decisions and the need for the country to stay true to its traditions, values and ethics.
