Councillor Nick Walker

Borough Councillor for Portchester West

Nick Walker has lived in Portchester for 28 years, his children have all been
educated at Portchester schools and he has been a Councillor for 16 years. Nick
has held senior positions within the Council for some years as Chairman of
Planning and Transportation and Chairman of Planning Development Control.

He is Chairman and a Trustee of the Portchester Parish Hall. His bid to design and
build a modern Parish Hall near the top of Castle Street has proved to be an
enormous success with many local people and groups now using the Hall to
virtual capacity.

As a Portchester Councillor he has been instrumental in bringing about
Government funding and implementation of the Home Zone Scheme and funding for
the implementation of the Castle Street Conservation Area Improvements. As a
long term resident of Portchester Nick has had a hands on approach to local
improvements and is proud to call Portchester his home.
