Councillor Pamela Bryant

Borough Councillor for Fareham North

I was born and brought up in Fareham, coming from several generations of Fareham
residents which gives me a good background. My husband and I have lived in
Fareham North Ward since 1969.

From 1975 until 1997 I worked for a local GP in Fareham Health Centre and it was during
that time I came into contact with a great many local residents.

I was first elected to the Council in 1990 and from 1999 to 2016 I represented the ward along with my husband John as my ward colleague. Now that John has retired I am joined by our daughter Louise, and together we continue working for the residents of Fareham North. We work as
a team helping one another with ward issues, between us representing the
residents' views within the Council.

I was honoroured to be Mayor of Fareham for the municipal year 2002/2003 and during
that time met many local residents. In 2004/05 I became Chairman's Lady to John
at HCC meeting so many residents of our beautiful county during the year, and
in 2006/07 I was privileged to be Mayoress( as John was elected Mayor) making
us the first husband and wife team in Fareham both holding the office of
Fareham's First Citizen. Although the 'Civic Years' were very demanding I have
lasting memories of the town and county I am so proud to have called home for
most of my life.

On a personal note my interests are mainly
around the home and garden as well as enjoying the company of two
granddaughters, Charlotte and Emily. I am a supporter of  Fareham Cancer Research Campaign (CRUK); helping to raise funds for what I feel is a very worthwhile
cause in the fight to eradicate cancer. Continuing my interests in helping
those less fortunate than ourselves within the community, I am  a  Past President of the Rotary Club of Fareham, now its Registrar.  I am also the President of Fareham Nomads Swimming Club.
