Councillor Peter Davies

Borough Councillor for Fareham North West

I was born in London and the family moved to Kent when I was 13. I lived in Herne Bay
and went to school in Canterbury. After attending Reading University (BA Hons),
University of Kent (M.Phil) and London University (PGCE) I taught at a public
school in Kent. I moved to Fareham in 1974 as Head of History, Politics and
Economics at Price's Sixth Form College (and subsequently at Fareham College).
From 1991-96 I worked away as Senior Lecturer at a University in London
(specialising in Soviet and post Soviet Politics). Since 1996 I have worked for
the Open University and part time at Havant College. I am also a bus anorak,
having worked on the buses during my university vacations at Swanage on the
extra summer services that they had in those far off days. I have retained a
life long interest in buses. I also served for many years as a Methodist Local
